Marinduque cancels centennial concert amid COVID 2019


The Marinduque province is cancelling the centennial concert on February 20 amid the threat of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID 2019).

The Office of Cong. Lord Allan Velasco confirmed that the Marinduque Centennial Concert has to be cancelled for health reasons.

“The Office of Cong. Lord Allan Velasco would like the public to know that due to health and safety reasons, we WILL NOT PUSH THROUGH with the MARINDUQUE CENTENNIAL CONCERT on Thursday, 20 February 2020,” the Office said.

The solon’s office said that the health and safety of Marinduquenos remains their utmost our priority.

“In light of the Department of Health memorandum advising against going to concerts and public events which may spread the novel coronavirus (nCov) at this time, our Office has decided to cancel the event for now,” Velasco’s office said.

“Rest assured that we will find a more meaningful way to celebrate our province’s centennial anniversary. Thank you for your understanding. Stay safe, Marinduque,” it added.

Marinduque is celebrating its 100th founding anniversary this year.
