Bill seeking improve Bicol Medical Center bags Senate panel approval
Camarines Sur Rep. Gabriel Bordado, Jr. expressed his gratitude to a Senate committee for approving the counterpart measure of his pet bill at the upper chamber.
The Senate Committee on Health passed their version of a measure seeking to increase the bed capacity of Bicol Medical Center and allot additional funds therefor.
“Thank GOD! This afternoon, the Senate Committee on Health, chaired by Sen. Bong Go, approved my bill HB 831(with the Senate counterpart, SB 640, being filed by Sen. Kiko Pangilinan)…” said Bordado.
The CamSur solon said that the bill seeks to increase the bed capacity of the Bicol Medical Centerfrom 500 beds to 1000 beds as well as to its service facilities and professional health care services.
It also aims to authorize the increase in its work force complement and amending for the purpose Republic Act No. 8053, and appropriating funds therefor.
“The Officer-in-Charge of the Bicol Medical Center, Dr. Francisco Sales III, also attended the Senate hearing,” said the solon.
