Gov. Villafuerte hits fake news about coronavirus in Camarines Sur
Camarines Sur Governor Miguel Villafuerte has slammed the false information circulating online about the supposed persons under investigation for possible novel coronavirus.
“Wala pong 100 na Chinese sa Kapitolyo, at wala rin pong persons under investigation re Coronavirus,” Governor Villafuerte said.
The governor also told his constituents to keep proper hygiene amid the threat of 2019 coronavirus.
“Ingat po tayo sa fake news. Always maintain proper hygiene. Kung pwede iwasan muna ang mag-shake hands, mag-holding hands, mag beso-beso, maghalikan (lalo na kung hindi naman kayo),” the governor said.
“Bottomline: This is serious, but don’t panic nor cause panic,” he said.
Villafuerte earlier placed the province under blue alert status amid the threat of 2019 novel coronavirus.
Villafuerte, in an order dated February 7, tasked local government units to activate their respective emergency operations center/coronavirus task force monitoring and prompt response.
He also told them to implement precautionary measures and clearly monitor their respective areas.
