Oriental Mindoro Gov. Dolor says being a BSP member built his character
Oriental Mindoro Gov. Humerlito Dolor has looked back in his scouting days as he the 21st Boy Scout of the Philippines (BSP) Provincial Jamboree.
More than 1,000 students gathered recently in Arangin, Naujan for the said provincial jamboree.
Dolor served as the council Chairman of the BSP-Oriental Mindoro. He was also a member of the BSP.
The Governor, in his speech, highlighted the importance of the boy scouts in the community, especially in times of calamity and emergency.
“Kung ano ako ngayon ay dahil sa paghubog sakin ng scouting, Once a scout, Always a scout,” Dolor was quoted as saying.
He said that with scouting, the youth will be equipped with skills and trainings that they can surely use in the future.
Meanwhile,concurrent OIC Council Scou Executive of the Philippines Oriental Mindoro Chapter Babylyn Pomarejos said that there are 24,592 scouts in the province as of the moment.
“Hinikayat din niya ang mga kabataan na sumali at makilahok sa scouting upang mas mahubog pa ang kanilamg pagkatao at maging produktibong miyembro ng pamayanan,” the province said.
