The Sorsogon provincial government has earmarked P1 million for temporary water irrigation system for the farmers affected by Typhoon Tisoy in Irosin.

Sorsogon Governor Francis Escudero met with farmers form Iroson recently where they tackled the situation of Tabon-tabon Communal Irrigation System and its effects on the farming of neighboring towns.

Captain Mario Gabion from Barangay Macawayan said that after Tisoy hit their town, irrigation became a primary problem for them.

As the rehabilitation of the system may take a while, the farmers suggested the establishment of shallow tube wells with water pump for affected barangays.
