CamSur Gov. Villafuerte orders DRRMCs to monitor landslide-prone areas
Camarines Sur Governor Miguel Villafuerte has ordered the local disaster risk reduction management councils to monitor landslide-prone areas in the province.
This is in line with the bad weather conditions brought about by “Tail-End of a Cold Front.”
“All LDRRMCs shall continuously monitor flood and landslide-prone areas due to rains brought by “Tail-End of a Cold Front,'” Villafuerte said.
Villafuerte said that according to state weather bureau PAGASA, the province will continue to experience “light to at times moderate rains.”
He said that the rains for the past 24 hours left lands saturated which could trigger rain induced landslides.
“Also, monitor the creeks, river and other watercourses expecting the possibility of flooding and flashfloods,” the order read.
Villafuerte also tasked concerned officials to take precautionary measures and enforce preemptive evacuation when situation calls for it.
