Albay gov’t recognizes best family based food production program
The Province of Albay has recognized the barangays and local government units with the best family based food production program.
The Capitol just recently held the Albay Family Based Food Production Program ( AFBFPP) Awarding Ceremony Season 3.
“This program was conceptualized by Gov. Al Francis C. Bichara which aimed to provide sustainable, healthy food for every family in Albay thru the establishment of organic vegetable gardens in every barangay and at least 100 households per barangay to establish a backyard garden,” the province said.
“This program is the answer to lower the incidence of malnutrition and having food in every table for every family so tha no Albayano will get hungry,” it added.
For 2019, a total of 633 barangays participated in the said program.
Winners for the Search for Most Outstanding Barangay Communal Vegetable Garden are as follows:
Champion: Brgy Coro -Coro, Tiwi, Albay;
1st runner-up, Brgy Bonga, Bacacay, Albay and
2nd runner-up Brgy Cabangan West, Legazpi City.
For the Search for Outstanding Cleanest and Greenest Mun/City:.
Champion: City of Ligao, the winners are;
1st runner up – City of Tabaco and
2nd runner up – LGU Camalig.
