Albay Gov. Al Francis Bichara shows high-tech way to fight dengue
The fight against the dengue virus has gotten high-tech in Albay.
In a Facebook post, Albay Gov. Albay Gov. Al Francis Bichara shared a photo of the Moskeet, a smart mosquito surveillance equipment.
The equipment was given to the Albay Public Safety Emergency and Management Office.
It is a device that tells authorities the location, density and identity of mosquitoes in an area, so that they could take quick action about them.
Bichara said the state of the art device would help immensely, it not eradicate, mosquito borne diseases such as dengue, malaria, and meningococcemia.
Technology has been able to make major advances in recent years; we must use it to safeguard people’s health and save lives!
“Moskeet: Smart Mosquito Surveillance. Apsemo Pdrrmo Chief Dr. Cedric D. Daep is presented with an anti-dengue device that alerts authorities regarding location, density and identity of mosquitoes in an area for quick course of action. This state-of-the -art device is a big help to control, if not totally eradicate mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, malaria, meningococcemia,” Bichara posted.
