Camarines Norte Rep. Josie Tallado is pushing for the establishment of two more courts of justice in the first district.

Tallado has met with Supreme Court Administrator Midas Marquez to discuss her proposal on the sidelines of budget hearing at the House of Representatives.

The Camarines Norte solon said that there are only five trial courts in the province, which has a total population of 583,313 based on Philippine Statistics Authority data.

Samantalang isa lamang ang nasa Unang Distrito na nasa Labo,” said the solon.

“Sa datos ng RTC Br. 64 sa Labo, mayroon nang 782 kaso na nangangailangan ng kaukulang atensyon samantalang batay sa Office of the Court Admininistrator ay 300 kaso lamang ang ideal na caseload ng isang hukuman,” she said.

Tallado noted that the additional two courts will benefit the residents of Santa Elena, Capalonga, Paracale and Jose Panganiban who will no longer need to travel far to Daet.
