An official of National Food Authority-Occidental Mindoro has shed light on the true state of the agency before the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

Lilibette P. Ignacio, Provincial Manager ng NFA-Occidental Mindoro, recently faced the members of the SP to clear the issues regarding palay prices, incentives, and its authority under the Rice Traffiication Law.

Provincial Manager Ignacio also denied that there are 9 million bags of palay in NFA that are left to rot.

In response to the query if BM Dian Apigo-Tayag about the total harvest of the province, Ignacio said:“may 36, 600 hectares palay farmland sa SAMARICA area na umaani ng humigit-kumulang sa 90 bags per hectare.”

Ignacio also said that the NFA is ready and prepared to buy palay this harvest season.

“[R]eady at may enough funds with assurance mula sa executives sa national and regional offices.”
