Capitol lauds Palawan’s inclusion in Top 10 list to visit in Asia Pacific by Lonely Planet
The Palawan Capitol has lauded the inclusion of the province in the top 10 list to visit in Asia-Pacific for 2019 by the Lonely Planet.
“Muling umani ng pagkilala ang lalawigan ng Palawan matapos na masungkit ang Top 8 spot sa Top 10 List of Places to Visit in Asia Pacific for 2019 base sa Lonely Planet, isang International Travel Guide Book Publisher,” the provincial government said.
“Napili ang El Nido, Palawan bilang isa sa top destinations dahil sa taglay nitong dramatic seascapes, wildlife-laden jungles, at skyscraping rock formations,” it added.
The Lonely Planet, according to the province, travelled across Asia Pacific’s highlands and islands to find places with rich culture, historical sights, wildlife and natural wonders.
“The crown jewel is El Nido, where skyscraping karst formations rise out of blue water in Bacuit Bay. New rules restrict visitor numbers at signature sights like Big Lagoon on Miniloc Island, while a ban on single-use plastic bottles on tour boats is helping to tackle marine pollution, “ the Lonely Planet said on its official website.
Included in the Top 10 list are: (1) Margaret River and Southern WA, Australia, (2) Shikoku, Japan, (3) Bay of Islands & Northland, New Zealand, (4) Singapore, (5) The Cook Islands, (6) Central Vietnam, (7) Fiji, (9) Beijing, China, and (10) Cambodia.
Palawan was also hailed as World’s Friendliest Island and World’s Best Island by the Travel + Leisure, an international travel magazine.
“Dahil sa mga karangalan at pagkikilang ito, patuloy na pinalalakas ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ang sektor ng turismo sa pakikipagtulungan sa iba’t ibang sektor at lokal na pamahalaan ng bawat munisipyo,” the province said.
