Oriental Mindoro gov’t kicks off National Disaster Resilience Month celebration
The province of Oriental Mindoro has kicked off the celebration of the National Disaster Resilience Month.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of the province spearheaded the ceremony.
“Pinangunahan ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan sa ilalim ng bagong pamunuan ni Gobernador Humerlito A. Dolor sa pamamagitan ng Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council ang kick-off activities para sa pagdiriwang ng National Disaster Resilience Month 2019,” the provincial government said.
The event was held in Mansalay Municipal Gymnasium.
“Sa programang ginanap sa Mansalay Municipal Gymnasium, pinasalamatan ni Mayor Ferdinand Maliwanag ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan na sa kanilang bayan idinaos ang gawain sa kabila ng may naganap na kaguluhan sa kanilang bayan dulot ng armed conflict,” the provincial government said.
A blood letting event was likewise held during the ceremony. Present was Executive Director Ruel Quinzon of Oriental Mindoro Blood Council and Special Assistant on PDRRM Trainings.
“Naroroon din ang Municipal Disaster Response Team na nagkakaroon ng display ng kani-kanilang rescue equipments,” the province added.
