Mayor Panaligan attends Bucayao National High School’s 15th founding anniv celebration
Calapan City Mayor Arnan Panaligan has graced the founding anniversary of a high school he built early in his career.
Panaligan attended the 15th founding anniversary celebration and 1st alumni homecoming of Bucayao National High School.
Panaligan’s office said that it was one of the school projects of the mayor which opened in 2004.
“City Mayor Arnan C. Panaligan attended the 15th founding anniversary celebration and 1st alumni homecoming of Bucayao National High School,” his office said.
“In 2004, Mayor Panaligan, then on his third mayoral term, established Bucayao National High School. During his earlier term, Mayor Panaligan opened 5 high schools in strategic rural areas in order to make education accessible to the youth,” it added.
These schools are: Pedro V. Panaligan National High School in Bgy. Comunal, Parang National High School in Bgy. Parang, Nagiba National High School in Bgy. Nagiba 2, Ciriaco Abes National High School in Bgy. Mahal na Pangalan and Bucayao National High School in Bucayo.
Mayor Panaligan, dubbed as the city builder, served as Calapan’s mayor in 1995 to 2004. He served ad Governor of Oriental Mindoro from 2004 to 2013.
He ran again in 2013 as Calapan City Mayor. Last May elections, Panaligan won his third and final term as mayor.
