Twelve drug surrenderees have finished their 30-day program under the Balay Silangan last June 11 in Sofronio Española town, the Palawan Capitol said.

The said facility is pursuant to the order of President Rodrigo Duterte under Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Regulation No. 2 series of 2018, which mandates the local government units in the country to built facilities for the victims of illegal drugs.

Aside from Sofronio Española, there are also Balay Silangan in the towns of Quezon, Roxas and San Vicente.

Meanwhile, the Palawan provincial government is joined by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Philippine National Police (PNP), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Probation and Parol and the Department of Justice (DOJ) in implementing the program.
