Calapan SP zeroes in on amendments to ordinance granting benefits to seniors
The Calapan City Sangguniang Panglungsod has tackled the proposed amendments to an ordinance granting financial assistance to citizens aged 85 and above.
“Tinalakay sa Committee Hearing ng Ika-7 Sangguniang Panlungsod sa SP Session Hall ang, An Ordinance Amending Resolution No. 862, City Ordinance No. 18, Series of 2015, otherwise known as ‘An Ordinance Providing Financial Assistance to Calapan City Residents aged 85 years and more as part of the city’s effort to support Senior Citizens and Appropriating Funds Thereof’,” the SP said.
Under the Section 2 of the said ordinance, the City Government of Calapan shall provide financial assistance to senior citizens in the amount equivqlent to the following:
70 years old and 75 years old P 500.00
80 years old and 85 years old P 1,000.00
90 years old P 3,000.00
95 years old P 5,000.00
“Sa nasabing committee hearing ay iminungkahi ni Senior Citizens Federation Pres. Imelda Dacillo na huwag likdangan ang mga senior na may may edad 71, 72, 73, 74, 81, 82, 83, at 84 dahil higit nilang na e-enjoy ang halagang maiibigay ng City Govrnment kumpara sa mga edad pataas,” the council said.
Dacillo added that there are only few beneficiaries to receive the said incentives.
“Sa mungkahi ni Hon. Mylene de Jesus, Committee Chairperson on PWD and Senior Citizens ay napagkasuduan dito na isumite sa SP members ang listahan ng mga senior citizens na may edad na nabanggit ng kanilang presidente na upang maipasa na ito sa susunod na sesyon,” said the council.
