Gov. Umali takes oath as Oriental Mindoro 2nd district representative
Outgoing Oriental Mindoro Governor Alfonso Umali Jr. has formally taken his oath as the province’s second district representative.
Umali took his oath before Branch XXXIX Acting Presiding Judge Edralin C Reyes today.
“Pormal nang nanumpa sa kanyang tungkulin sa pamamagitan ni Branch XXXIX Acting Presiding Judge Edralin C Reyes si Gov. Alfonso V. Umali, Jr. bilang susunod na Kinatawan ng Segunda Distrito ng Oriental Mindoro,” the provincial government said.
Umali will replace his brother Rep. Reynaldo V. Umali for the said government position.
“Magtatapos ngayong June 30 sa kanyang huling termino bilang gobernador ng Oriental Mindoro si Gov. Umali at uupo bilang Congressman ng 2nd District sa July 1,” the province said.
Rep. Rey Umali ran as governor of the province but eventually lost to Vice Governor and now governor-elect Bonz Dolor.
The older Umali has served for a total of three terms or nine years since 2010.
