Few weeks before he relinquish his post, Outgoing Naga City Mayor John Bongat isn’t stopping from working hard.

Just yesterday, on a Sunday, Mayor Bongat worked overtime to finish some businesses.

“Overtime work on a Sunday 20 days before I end my 3rd and last term, and I find myself in a race against time,” said Bongat.

“Thanks to my city hall co-workers for the support, as they continue helping me deal with some unfinished businesses, and of course to my family for their patience and understanding,” he added.

Bongat will end his term on June 30 after serving three terms as mayor since 2010.

“Looking forward, I’ve never even given my post-mayorship life much thought. Good luck to me, and may God and Ina guide me and my family in our next journey,” he said.

Bongat will be replaced by Vice Mayor and now Mayor-elect Nelson Legacion.
