‘Killed’ many times in politics: Catanduanes Gov. Cua reelected
Catanduanes Governor Joseph Cua said that he has been “killed” many times in politics, but he was able to rise back from the dead.
Cua has been reelected as Governor of Catanduanes, defeating Catanduanes Rep. Cesar V. Sarmiento.
Cua’s runningmate Vice Governor Shirley Abundo was also reelected. Engr. Hector S. Sanchez was also proclaimed congressman-elect of the lone district of the province.
“Winston Churchill said, politics is more dangerous than war, for in war you are only killed once,” said Cua.
“Friends, ladies and gentlemen, I was killed many times and politics has been my deathbed. But I learned to resurrect not to learn to live but to let others live,” he said.
Cua also thanked all those who supported his candidacy.
“You are all alive, so I am.”
“Mabalos po sa gabos na nagsuporta sa #TamangTimpla #SaDatiSana,” he said.
