Dahil sa Facebook: Ex-Romblon gov Madrona wants complainant in graft case
Former Romblon governor Eleandro Madrona has asked the Sandiganbayan 6th Division to hold in contempt the complainant for makes posts on Facebook about the graft case and that the accused will eventually get convicted.
In his motion, Madrona explained that Lyndon Moolino, who filed the case against him, is already violating the sub judice rule which prohibits parties from publicly discussing a case to avoid prejudgment and influence a court.
“It behooves upon this honorable Sandiganbayan, therefore, to censure respondent in terms that are just, so he may immediately cease and desist from continuing with his herein public pronouncements, in order that there may be a free, independent and effective administration of justice,” read Madrona’s motion.
Madrona is facing a graft case before the Sandiganbayan concerning his alleged involvement in the fertilizer scam.
The case stems from the P4.8-million purchase from Feshan Philippines for the purchase of 3,333 bottles of fertilizers.
However, Madrona allegedly awarded the purchase to Fenshan without undergoing the required public bidding.
