Private sector representatives in RDCs hold national convention in Palawan
Puerto Princesa City hosted the 10th Regional Development Councils – Private Sector Representatives (PSRs) National Convention recently.
More than 150 representatives of private sectors in various RDCs in the country gathered last April 9 to 12 to attend the said convention.
Palawan Governor Jose Ch. Alvarez graced the said RDC – Private Sector Representatives National Convention.
The MIMAROPA Regional Development Council led by Alvarez and National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) – MIMAROPA spearheaded the said convention with the theme, Ecotourism: Partnership for Sustainability
Alvarez, in his speech, recognized the roles of private sector in socioeconomic development and nation-building.
“I’m hoping that this gathering will also bring about very good results that every region can used in order to contribute to the overall development of the Philippines,” Alvarez said.
Meanwhile, Randy Durband, chief executive officer of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, served as the guest speaker.
“Tinalakay niya ang patungkol sa mga balangkas at polisiya na maaaring gawin para sa pagsusulong ng sustainable tourism sa bansa,” the province said.
“Kabilang sa mga paksang tinalakay sa pagtitipon ang patungkol sa Kasaganaan – Economic Sustainability, Malasakit – Socio-Cultural Sustainability, Kalikasan – Environmental Sustainability at Tourism and Climate Change,” it added.
