Rep. Velasco lauds Senate committee approval of bill granting university status to Marinduque State College
Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco has lauded the approval of a Senate bill that seeks to confer university status to the Marinduque State College (MSC)
The Senate committee on education and culture and arts headed by Senator Chiz Escudero has approved the Senate bill endorsing the universityhood of MSC without objection.
The House counterpart bill was authored by Rep. Velasco himself.
The solon said that once the MSC gets university status, “it will significantly increase the capacity of the institution to deliver higher quality of education” for the students of Marinduque.
Velasco also thanked his Senate counterparts Senators Win Gatchalian and Sonny Angara for their support to bill.
“The people of Marinduque can soon enjoy the benefits of having a State University in the island-province,’ Velascon said.
The solon said that first there was a Free Tertiary Education Act and now, Marinduque will get its own state university.
He said that it “means a lot” for the students of Marinduque as they will nowbe less anxious about where to go after graduating senior high school.
