Masbate Rep. Lanete seeks creation of dental unit in every rural health office
Masbate Rep. Scott Lanete is pushing for the creation of a dental unit in every rural health unit under the helm of the Health department.
The solon, a physician by profession, said that dental health is part of the right to health.
“Dental Health is part of our right to health. However, our country’s health programs rarely involve dental care,” the solon noted.
“There is also a lack of access to dental services in the rural areas. Communities in these areas would be lucky enough if civic organizations conduct a dental mission in their locality once a year,” he added.
In connection with this, Lanete has filed House Bill 1085 that seeks to establish dental unit in every rural health unit under Department of Health.
“It is essential to establish a program that would devote utmost attention to the dental health of Filipinos living in the rural areas,” Lanete said.
“This bill seeks to make dental care services readily available and accessible to people in those areas. We can start achieving this by mandating the creation of a dental unit in every rural health unit under the Department of Health,” he added.
