Oriental Mindoro Gov. Umali attends DOT-DPWH consultation in Manila

Oriental Mindoro Governor Alfonso V. Umali, Jr. has expressed his support to the tourism industry as he attended a regional consultation in Manila.
Umali graced the Regional Consultation and Workshop for DOT-DPWH Convergence Program yesterday held at the Best Western La Corona Hotel, in Ermita Manila.
During the workshop and consultation, stakeholders discussed the infrastructure projects under the Tourism Road Infrastructure Project or TRIP.
“Sa Oriental Mindoro, tinututukan ni Gob. Umali ang 22 road concreting projects sa buong probinsya na pinopondohan ng DOT DPWH hanggang 2020,” the provincial government said.
These key road projects are leading to major tourist destinations in Oriental Mindoro.
“Ang mga nasabing projects ay concreting of roads leading to tourism destinations sa bayan ng Mansalay, Puerto Galera, Bansud at Naujan. Matatandaang bumuo ang Provincial Government ng Provincial Tourism Masterplan na siyang basehan ng mga development ng sektor ng turismo sa lalawigan,” the province said.
Also present during the workshop were Mr. Renel Dela Torre from Provincial Planning and Development Office and Dr. Don Stepherson Calda, Supervising Tourism Operations Officer of PTIEDO.
