Naga Mayor John Bongat celebrates his last Xmas as mayor by thanking the people he worked with
Naga Mayor John Bongat is winding down in his last few months in office, and he made sure to thank the people he has worked with before he finally steps down.
In a Facebook post, Bongat shared that he spent his last Christmas party as mayor. He expressed his gratitude for his fellow workers who made the event enjoyable and memorable.
While he will never forget the party, what will also stay with him are the friendships he formerd with them. The workers had been with him through many events and obstacles, and have treated him as part of their family, he said.
The last six months before he steps down for good would not be easy, and he will definitely miss being with them, he said.
He asked them to wish him luck on his new journey.
They may soon be treading different paths, but we’re sure their connection will remain!
“SALAMAT SA MGA KATRABAHO KO sa mayor’s office. for making #MyLastChristmas as your boss at last night’s party enjoyable and memorable. It was a fun-filled night indeed that I will never forget. But one thing I’ll never forget about you guys is your gift of friendship developed through years of our working together, of your always being there for me through thick and thin, of your treating me like I am part of your own family for the past 8 years and 6 months. Definitely, the 6 remaining months ahead as I inch towards my retirement as Mayor on June 30, 2019 won’t be easy to count. I’ll miss not only this last christmas with you, but the succeeding christmases as well as I tread a different path for my future! Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year!!! And btw, please pray that God will always guide me and my family, and how I wish you wish me luck, too, on my new journey! #ValedictorySeriesMJB.31,” Bongat posted.
