Proud! CamSur Rep. Villafuerte’s First 1000 days bill enacted into law
Camarines Sur Rep. Luis Raymund “LRay” Villafuerte felt “proud” that one of his pet bills has been enacted into law.
President Rodrigo Duterte signed the Republic Act 11148, or the “Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay Act,” where Villafuerte was one of the principal authors.
The measure is also known as the First 1000 days law.
“Proud to announce that one of my priority bills I filed was already signed into law by President Duterte. I am one of the principal authors together with my other colleagues, the solon said.
“The First 1000 days law will benefit pregnant women for 9 months ( 270days ) , plus the first 2 years of the child ( 730 days ) maternal healthcare and early childhood care and development will lead to healthier mothers and children,” he said.
Villafuerte said that Camarines Sur “piloted” the First 1000 days program under the leadership of Camarines Sur Governor Migz Villafuerte.
“The province of camsur under Gov Migz Villafuerte piloted the 1st 1000 days program using provincial funds in the town of Goa and partnered with the Natl Nutrition council to pilot in Iriga City and Sipocot and next year the Provincial Goverment will roll out to another 13 municipalities even before the law was passed,” the CamSur solon said.
“Now since this program is enacted into law , the whole country will benefit from this program started in the province of camsur,” it added.
