Gov. Alvarez allays fears of Capitol staff over the proposed splitting of Palawan into 3 provinces
Palawan Governor Jose Ch. Alvarez allayed the fears of the employees over the proposes splitting of the province into three.
Alvarez addressed the employees during the flag raising ceremony today at the Capitol.
The governor said that they took into consideration the welfare of the employees and staff when they pushed the division of Palawan into three.
Under the proposal, the province will be divided into Palawan Del Sur, Palawan Del Norte and Palawan Oriental.
Alvarez said that employees who want to be transferred in new Provincial Capitol for Roxas, Taytay and Brooke’s Point because they have low cost of living compared to Puerto Princesa.
“Ang sweldo ninyo ay hindi yan umaangat taun-taon nang malaki [kundi] konti lang. … mababa ang cost of living sa Brooke’s Point, Roxas at Taytay. In other words marami kayong masi-save,” said Alvarez.
“Ang may gusto – pwedeng lumipat. Pwede [rin] namang mag early retirement. Kunin mo ang pera mo at mag-negosyo.”
Alvarez meanwhile vowed to help those employees who will opt to stay in the current Capitol.
“Samantala, isinagawa rin pagkatapos ng flag-raising ceremony ang pamamahagi ng mga retirement rings sa mga nagretirong empleyado ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan na pinangunahan ni Gob. Alvarez,” said the provincial government.
