Albay children gather for ‘Pasko para sa mga Bata,’ 1st Local State of the Children’s Report
Hundreds of kids gathered for the “Pasko para sa mga Bata” and the first Local State of the Children’s Report of Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara.
The event was spearheaded by the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office.
Governor Bichara said that the event was organized to “bring joy to children by giving them their right to participate in communities and boost their confidence through this event.”
The Governor also said that he is doing all his best to bring quality and affordable hospital services to mothers who need prenatal care through building new Provincial Hospital in Ligao and rehabilitating the hospitals all over the Province.
Moreover, Bichara also mentioned that he worked for the free optical mission for the young Albayanos who need the free check-up and free corrective eye glasses.
On the Local State Children’s Report by the OIC of PSWDO, Eva Grageda, a total of 610 corrective lenses were provided for Albayano children and a total 58 assistive wheelchair were provided for PWD Children.
The Bahay Pag-Asa for Girls is also now operational.
The “Pasko para sa mga Bata” and the fist Local State of the Children’s Report werr organized to give information about the provincial government’s efforts for the children and also inform them of the services being offered.
Meanwhile, Eva Ribaya, Chairperson Committee on Women, Children, Family and GAD, welcomed the participants and reiterated the importance of having this occasion for the Albayano kids.
“They are the source of inspiration, yakapin lang tayo ng ating mga anak, masaya na tayo at napapawi ang ating pagod,” she said.
