Naga City bags award for pushing programs for PWDs
The City Government of Naga has bagged another award, this time for its programs for persons with disability (PWD).
Mayor John Bongat personally received the Apolinario Mabini Award last night tat the Club Filipino.
“Congratulations to the People of Naga! AT THE CLUB FILIPINO LAST NIGHT to receive, on behalf of LGU Naga, its first Apolinario Mabini Award, together with Coun. Elmer S. Baldemoro (SP Chairman on PWD), Mr. Jun Tam Mongoso (City Administrator), Mr. Christopher Molin (OIC, PDAO) and Kgd Erning Paredes (President, NCPWD Fed.),” Mayor Bongat said.
The city bagged the said award for “passing significant ordinances that protect and uphold the rights of persons with disabilities, establishing accessible physical structures and facilities and implementing inclusive programs that empower persons with disabilities.”
The award was bestowed by the Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled, Inc.
Just last month, Naga City also bagged Seal of Good Local Governance 2018 from the Department of Interior and Local Government.
Naga also tooke home the Seal of Child Friendly Local Governance, Most Innovative LGU on Children’s Welfare, and the Remarkable Investment for Children Award last month.
