Donate blood, save lives! Albay Capitol holds bloodletting drive
The Albay provincial government has conducted a bloodletting activity yesterday at the Albay Astrodome.
The Provincial Health Office spearheaded the said activity, which featured blood donors from various agencies and other groups.
“Blood donors from different government agencies such as volunteers from PNP, BFP, DENR, NFA, LTO RO5, PRC, Naval, Philippine Army, JBDAPH, DOH, Daraga Rural Health Unit, PhilHealth, BRTTH, CHO and college students from different institutions were present at the venue,” said the Albay provincial government.
“Donors undergone the blood donation process to check whether they are fit to donate or not. This process checks the donor’s blood pressure, hemoglobin, height and weight, and medical (physical),” it added.
The donors were likewose interviewed about their health status before proceeding with the blood extraction.
Dr. Antonio Ludovice, head of the PHO, expressed gratitude to all the donors for participating in the event, noting that their blood could save lives
“This blood will also be preserve in preparation for further accidents caused by firecrackers that may occur during the holiday season,” said the provincial government.
