Calapan City bags Seal of Good Local Governance anew
Calapan City has just bagged its second consecutive Seal of Good Local Governance from the Department of Interior and Local Government.
Mayor Arnan Panaligan personally received the award during a ceremony held in Manila Hotel.
“Calapan City is a SEAL OF GOOD LOCAL GOVERNANCE AWARDEE (SGLG) for the second consecutive year – the SGLG is the ‘Oscar Awards’ for Local Governments,” Panaligan’s office said.
According to the city, the award is given to “very select” local government units that passed the assessmen in the following criteria: Financial Administration, Peace and Order, Disaster Preparedness, Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Social Protection, Environmental Protection and Tourism, Culture and Arts.
“Calapan City PASSED ALL THE CRITERIA,’ the mayor’s office said.
Aside from Panaligan, Vice Mayor Gil Ramirez, City Administrator Atty. Adel Abas, Acting City Planning and Development Officer EnP Joey Benter also accepted the SGLG Award.
Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Ano and Sen. Juan Edgardo Angara conferred the award.
“Other City Government department heads and senior officers also attended the awarding ceremonies held at Manila Hotel,” said the city.
