Healthcare for all! Masbate Rep. Lanete wants health care workers in every rural barangays
Masbate Rep. Scott Lanete is pushing for health care for all Filipinos, especially those who are living in far-flung areas.
Lanete said that many Filipinos suffer diseases amid the lack of access to government hospitals.
“Diseases and malnutrition greatly affect many Filipinos because of lack of access to government hospitals and clinics,” said Lanete.
“Rarely do health care services reach people in the far-flung areas of the country,” he added.
To address this, Lanete said that there should be health care workers in rural barangays in the country.
“The presence of a health care worker in a rural barangay can make a big difference in their lives,” he said.
Lanete has also filed a bill that seeks to establish specialized satellite hospitals in Visayas and Mindanao.
The Masbate solon has already filed House Bill 3859 or the proposed Satellite Hospitals Act.
“Through this bill, we seek to establish specialized satellite hospitals in Visayas and Mindanao, which will be under the control and supervision of specialized hospitals like the Lung Center of the Philippines, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Philippine Children’s Medical Center, and the Philippine Heart Center,” said Lanete.
“The goal is to provide accessibility to more Filipinos all over the country,” he added.
