CamSur’s barangays execs undergo disaster response training, flood drill in Iriga

In partnership with various government agencies and other stakeholders, a training and flood drill has been conducted in Iriga town in Camarines Sur.

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) spearheaded the event together with the Bureau of Fire Protection and City Distaster Risk Reduction Management Council, among others.

Over 170 fficials from various barangays in Camarines actively participated in the training with the aim of equipping them with skills in disaster response.

“Sa pagtutulungan ng DILG kasama ang EDMERO, BFP at CDRRMC ng Iriga City, nagkaroon ng training at drill ang ating mga barangay officials upang mas maging alisto at handa sa mga parating na sakuna partikular na ang bahang dulot ng bagyo,” said the Camarines Sur provincial government.

“Dalawang araw pinulong para sa isang seminar ang 170 opisyal ng barangay ng pitong munisipyo sa Camarines Sur kasama ang Buhi, Bula, Baao, Ocampo, Pili at ang mga syudad ng Naga at Iriga patungkol sa preparasyon, pag-iwas, at pagbawas ng kasiraang maaring idulot ng kalamidad sa tao, komunidad at kalikasan,” it added.

A mass flood drill was likewise held during the last day of training seminar.

“Sa huling araw isinagawa ang malawakang flood drill sa Barangay ng San Francisco, Iriga City na isa sa mga binabahang lugar sa syudad ng Iriga,” said the Capitol.
