Masbate VG Revil on 2019 polls: It’s Congress or nothing
Masbate Vice Governor Kaye Revil has made up her mind for 2019 elections: to run for congress or nothing.
Revil has been dropping hints about her Congressional bid recently but it was only yesterday when she expressedly revealed her plans.
“Election filing begins today. My options are: Congress or Not Run At All for 2019,” Revil said in a short Facebook post yesterday.
Revil is serving her first term as Masbate Vice Governor. She was previously elected as a provincial board member.
Revil is an alumna of University of the Philippines. She pursued law at the Ateneo de Manila University.
While serving as Vice Governor, she was elected as the president of the Lady Local Legislator’s League of the Philippines (4L).
She was recently tapped to become the legal adviser of the ASEAN Youth Community.
Under Revil’s watch, the provincial council passed its own version of the Freedom of Information ordinance, making Masbate the first province in Bicol Region to have such key transparency measure.
Revil has yet to file her Certificate of Candidacy as of this writing. The filing of COCs is until October 18.
