Palawan tourism officers undergo Advance Tourism Statistics training
More than 40 municipal planning and tourism officers from different local government units in Palawan have undergone Advance Tourism Statistics training at the Legislative Building of the provincial capitol.
The 3-day training, which began last October 9, is a joint undertaking of the Department of Tourism (DOT) and Provincial Tourism Promotions and Development Department (PTPDD) of Palawan.
The province said that the training is the second of the three part series of Standard Local Tourism Statistics System project of the DOT and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
“Mayroon tayong unique understanding kung ano ang mga data na kinokolekta lang; tool para maiwasan ang waste of time, waste of effort, waste of money and manpower dahil mga importanteng information lang ang kinukuha natin,” the DOT said.
Ryan R. Carlos, official from the DOT Office of Tourism Development Planning, Research and Information Management (OTDPRIM), said that LGUs learn to draft their own tourism development plan.
“Because the plan is intended for the tourists who visit their destinations.
