May the best team win! Albay Capitol’s inter-department sportsfest kicks off
The inter-department sportsfest of the Albay provincial Capitol has officially opened recently at the Albay Astrodome.
Officials and employees of the Provincial Government of Albay gathered at the venue for the annual sportsfest last October 8.
“Cheers and screams of PGA workers filled the arena as teams in yellow, green, violet, blue, red, and orange enthusiastically showed their full energy as their muses and representatives raised their team’s flag,” the provincial government said.
“The different provincial government offices, departments and hospitals are clustered into six teams representing different colors, namely, the Yellow Voltage, Green Erectors, Violet Thors, Blue Eagles, Red Dragons, and Orange Titans,” it added.
According to the province, the sports activity is their way of promoting the “overall well-being of citizens through sports development and other socio-civic activities.”
“Governor Al Francis Bichara and the Provincial Government of Albay has included in its annual calendar of activities the conduct of a sportsfest among its employees as part of its regular programs, projects and activities (PPAs),” said the province.
Governor Bichara was “happy” as he saw the employees of Capitil coming together in this sports fest.
“This is a friendly competition. Ang importante digdi mag-exercise kita, kaipuhan makusug ang lawas ta pirmi, bako kita pirmi seryoso, kaipuhan digdi, cool lang tayo!” he was quoted as saying.
Bichara also told the participants to not treat the sports events seriously and not be uptight, and just have fun.
“May the best team win, but, no injuries ha. Alright? Tanganing pagkatapos kaini oh, magilingan man kita giraray sa trabaho,” he said.
