Ako-Bicol Rep. Garbin joins PH delegation to UN General Assembly
Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Alfredo Garbin has joined the Philippine delegation to the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Allan Peter Cayetano led the delegation where he defended the country’s war on drugs before the UN body.
Presidential Legal Adviser Salvador Panelo also joined the delegation.
House Deputy Speaker Dinand Hernandez and Congen Claro Cristobal were also part of the Philippine contingent.
Garbin also held a meeting with US–Philippines Society at the sideline of the UN event.
“Lunch meeting with US–Philippines Society (“US-PS”) which was came into being in Washington D.C. on May 01, 2012, to “realize the vision of its founders to create a new and timely mechanism for elevating the Philippines’ profile in the United States,” the Ako-Bicol partylist solon said.
“It’s a private sector initiative organized to broaden and expand interaction and understanding in areas of security, trade, investments, tourism, the environment, history, education and culture between the United States and the Philippines,” he said.
Garbin was recently named member of the powerful Commission on Appointments (CA) following the leadership overhaul at the House of Representatives.
