Trash-free! CamSur gov’t leads province-wide coastal clean-up activity
The Camarines Sur provincial government has successfully spearheaded its international coastal clean-up drive last Saturday.
The activity carried the theme, “Fighting For Trash-Free Camarines Sur Waterbodies.”
The said event was led by the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur through the Environment Disaster Management and Emergency Response Office (EDMERO) and the El Verde Youth for Climate Action (EVYCA).
The proponents of the cleanup drive spearheaded the simultaneous coastal cleanup in all municipalities of Camarines Sur last Sept. 22.
El Verde Youth President Minalabac Chapter Renz Karlo Paranial said that they took charge of the event to help clean the environment. He said that the activity is a huge help for coastal communities.
“We participated in this event for the environment and to help rehabilitate coastals areas. We want to teach them how to segregate wastes properly. This is a very big help in the barangays and we saw the sense of community in how each members helped in the coastal clean-up,” said Paranial.
“After namin matapos, ang saya pala at ang ganda kasi marami pala kami natulungan. Masarap pakinggan sa mga tao na tumatawa kasi natulungan nila yung barangay nila,” he added.
