Oriental Mindoro Gov. Umali attends Provincial Health Officers Association of the Philippines Health Summit 2018
Oriental Mindoro Governor Alfonso Umali Jr. attended the 4-day Provincial Health Officers Association of the Philippines Health Summit 2018 held in Puerto Princesa City in Palawan.
The summit started last September 11 until tomorrow, September 14.
Governor Umali touted his intensified program against illegal drugs through the reactivation of the Provincial Drug Abuse Council and the renovation of the old Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital to convert it to Oriental Mindoro Rehabilitation and Recovery Center.
“Makalipas ang isang taong operasyon ng pasilidad, nasa mahigit walong daang kliyente nito ang nagtapos ng rehabilitation program at sinubaybayan rin sila hanggang sa kanilang komunidad upang matiyak na magpapatuloy ang kanilang recovery,” the province said.
“Sa ngayon, nasa mahigit isang libo ang naka-enroll sa programa. Nagpasalamat rin si Gov.Umali sa DOH sa suporta nito sa lahat ng health programs ng probinsiya,” it added.
Present during the activity were Health Undersecretary Lilibeth David, DOH MIMAROPA Regional Director Mario Baquilod, PDEA MIMAROPA Regional Director Mario Ramos, DILG MIMAROPA Asst. Regional Director Floreceli Gunio, DILG Puerto Princesa City Director Rey Maranan, Word Health Organization Technical Officer for Mental Health and Substance Abuse Dr. Jasmine Vergara, WHO Technical Officer for Substance Abuse Mr. Peter Mahomet, among others.
This year’s activity carries the theme “Services in the Community: Road to Recovery”.
