Success! Naga Mayor Bongat thanks sponsors of Peñafrancia Festival
Naga City Mayor John Bongat has expressed gratitude to all the sponsors who supported the Peñafrancia Festival celebration.
The mayor said that it’s proper to thank them for making the month-long festivities a successful one.
Thousands of Bicolanos joined the Traslacion 2018 of the Our Lady of Peñafrancia last Friday.
The Our Lady of Peñafrancia, called by the Bicolanos as “Ina,” is the patroness of the City.
“WELL, I think it’s only proper to thank all sponsors who, in one way or another, have helped or are helping make this year’s month-long celebration (318th year) of the Bicolano devotion to Our Lady of Peňafrancia successful,” said Mayor Bongat.
The local chief executive particularly thanked Robinsons Place Naga and Vista Mall Naga for their support.
“Special mention to these two new players in the retail industry in Naga and Bicol, Robinsons Place Naga and Vista Mall Naga, for being our biggest benefactors, knowing full well how to give back part of their earnings from their successful business operations in Naga – for the people of Bicol and for “Ina,” said Mayor Bongat.
The Mayor skipped this year’s Traslacion last Friday as he flew to South Africa to serve as one of a panelist of a UNESCO-backed forum on migration.
