Naga City gets award for its economic dynamism from National Competitiveness Council
Naga City found itself as a hotbed… of economic dynamism.
The City just bagged the first place in the Economic Dynamism category of the competitiveness ranking among other component cities in the entire country.
Mayor John Bongat personally received the award during the 6th Regional Competitiveness Summit of the National Competitiveness Council last August 16, at the Philippine International Convention Center.
The city government said that 112 other component cities were assessed in the conducted evaluation for the ranking.
To recall, Naga City was awarded the Most Competitive Component City twice in a row in 2015 and 2016 as it topped the overall competitiveness ranking.
This year, Naga City was the second Most Competitive Component City behind Legazpi City.
“The categories being assessed by the awards are the (1) Government Efficiency, (2) Infrastructure, (3) Economic Dynamism, and (4) Resiliency,” said the City.
Mayor Bongat has said that for four consecutivr years, the city was able to not go below farther the second place in the overall competitiveness ranking— a feat no other city had achieved.
The mayor said that they will further “enhance the city’s practice in the conduct of business in Naga that will further generate employment and improve the standard of living of the Nagueños.”
