Top Palawan officials assures safety, security of the province
Top officials of Palawan assured that they are on top of safety, peace and order in the province.
The Provincial Peace and Order Council called for a press conference to discuss the peace and order in the province amid reports of kidnapping threats in the province.
Matta said that “security posture will remain strong and secure and Palawan is still safe”.
Meanwhile, Governor Jose Ch. Alvarez said that they are now coordinating with other government agencies to ensure the safety of Palaweños and tourists.
Meanwhile, the Western Command assured that they are on top of safety and security situation in the province.
The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office earlier warned its citizens amid “heightened risk” of kidnapping.
“(L)ocal authorities in Palawan have recently warned the public of a heightened risk from kidnapping; if in the area, you should follow the advice of local security and remain vigilant at all times,” the office said in an Aug. 13 update to its foreign travel advice.
