Yum yum yum! Albay hosts 2nd Regional Food and Travel Expo
The Province of Albay has hosted the 2-Day Regional Food and Travel Expo (ReFTEx) with the theme “Embracing the Dynamics and Diversities of Food Service and Travel Industries.
The event kicked-off yesterday at the Albay Astrodome with a total of 28 schools around Region V participating expo.
Dorothy F. Colle, Head of the Provincial Tourism, Culture, and Arts Office, delivered opening remark.
Governor Al Francis Bichara was represented by Public Administrator Engr. Vida Prollamante.
“The PGA is now pushing for agriculture tourism”, she said.
Prollamante mentioned the ongoing construction of Albay Bounty Farmers Village located at Cabangan, Camalig wherein “there are now available training centers for farmers. She also added that the participants are lucky enough to have such an event because it is a first in the region.”
The event featured several speakers from various fields.
Alvin D. Gonzales, Sales and Marketing Manager of Magsaysay Center for Hospitality and Culinary Arts (MIHCA), discussed the Cruise Line Industry in the International Perspective.
He shared his experience and gave advice to the participants should they choose to work on the cruise industry.
Meanwhile, a culinary demonstration was done by Celebrity Chef Boy Logro and followed by a Food Photography Contest.
