Oriental Mindoro provincial gov’t gives school supplies to children of OFWs
The Oriental Mindoro provincial government has distributed school supplies to 135 children of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who are members of Association of Overseas Filipino Workers Movement Inc. (AOFWMI).
The event was led by Provincial Youth Development Council chirf Rafael Umali, representing Governor Alfonso V. Umali Jr.
“Muli binigyang diin ni PYDC Raf sa kanyang mensahe na nakahanda naman ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan na alalayan ang kanilang sektor,” the provincial government said.
Belen Montoya, president of AOFWMI, has expressed gratitude to the provincial government for the bags and other supplies.
“Sa ngalan ng lahat ng mga magulang na OFW, pinasalamatan ni Gng. Belen Montoya pangulo ng AOFWMI ang Pamahalaang Panlalawigan sa malaking suportang ipinagkaloob sa kanilang samahan kung saan maraming mga bata ang natulungan,” said the province.
“Naging katuwang naman ng Education and Employment Services Division (EESD) sa pamamahagi ng naturang gamit sa eskwela ang Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA),” it added.
Meanwhile, the PYDC chair also led the distribution of bags and other school supplies to the students of Asiko Barrio Elementary School.
He also visited Dulangan III Elementary School and Mangangan II Elementary School.
