The Palawan provincial council has passed a resolution requesting the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) to put signage in tourists destinations in the province.

The resolution, authored by Board Member David Ponce De Leon, was approved during the 104th session of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.

Ponce De Leon said that some tourists are not familiar with other places that Palawan is offering.

“Yung mga turista natin, once they land in Puerto Princesa going to El Nido, they ask around. Tinatanong nila yung kanilang mga guide kung ano pa other than El Nido ang kanilang pwedeng makita. So, this will inform them halimbawa na when you pass by Roxas going to El Nido, makikita mo na ang Roxas ay may magandang sandbar, at mayroon tayong falls diyan sa may Dumarao. So this is an additional information guide towards our tourists,” he was quoted as saying.

So ilalagay po ito sa mga strategic locations within their municipalities,” he added.

Ponce De Leon also requested that the signage be a billboard-type if possible so that it would catch the attention of tourists easily.
