Catanduanes gov’t to hold training on strengthening parenting capabilities of fathers
The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) of Catanduanes will hold a 3-day Empowerment and Reaffirmation of Paternal Abilities (ERPAT).
The event, which aims to strengthen parenting capabilities of fathers in Catanduanes, is slated on September 4 to September 6.
“The 11 Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (MSWDOs) of the province conferred to discuss plans for the said training … Two participants are selected to be representatives for each municipality,” the provincial government said.
According to the provincial government, the target recipients covered by the ERPAT program are fathers who are classified as single parents, fathers with day care children, OFW workers and the like.
“The said organization is the latest program movement of the PSWDO for every municipality following Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) for women and Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) for children,” said the province.
“The said training is intended to conduct community-based sessions for father-leaders to adopt commitment, discipline, and knowledge in delivering effective paternal roles and responsibilities as well as promoting a drug and violence-free family in the locality,” it added.
