The Oriental Mindoro province will hold a Provincial Public Transport Summit next month to discuss various transport issues, Governor Alfonso Umali Jr. said.

Umali said that the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board has recently issued a resolution which opened application for UV Express to secure permits to operate.

“Kamakailan po, inilabas ng LTFRB ang Board Resolution No. 053 s. 2018 na nagbubukas ng aplikasyon para sa issuance ng CPC to operate UV Express Service and PUB. Bagamat hindi ito ang pangmatagalang solusyon, dagdag ito sa mga bumabiyaheng van at bus sa ating lalawigan,” said the Governor.

However, he said that the provincial government is still coordinating with the Department of Transportation and the LTFRB to finally solve the transport crisis in the province.

Umali also said that they will ask the LTFRB to have a One Stop Shop at the Capitol for the application of permits during the summit.
