May pinaboran? LRay Villafuerte faces raps for choosing security firm sans bidding
Camarines Sur 2nd District Representative Luis Raymund Villafuerte Jr. has been charged with graft for having picked a security agency without undergoing public bidding.
The Office of the Ombudsman filed the case after finding probable cause to indict Villafuerte.
The Ombudsman also named as his co-accused provincial accountant Leticia Aliorde, executive assistant Richard Rivera, rural health physician Bernadette Carlos, and medical officer III Gerardo Villafuerte.
Records show that when he was still provincial governor he entered into a contract from 2008 to 2009 with Tigon Security Investigation and General Service Inc. as the choice security firm for the provincial government.
However, the Ombudsman accused the defendants of giving unwarranted benefit to the firm after finding that Tigon did not undergo the required public bidding.
