Para tapos ang problema! Palawan gov’t urges van owners, operators to join cooperatives
The Palawan Provincial government’s Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO) has suggested that the transport services players in the province should join cooperatives.
Concepcion A. Sariego, supervising cooperative development specialist from the PCDO, said that such such cooperative will “materialize” and will succeed.
“Kami sa tingin namin, magma-materialize ito. Magiging maganda at mas maunlad ang kooperatiba and at the same time magkakaroon talaga ng disiplina ang mga miyembro nito lalo na ang mga van operators and owners kasi ang kooperatiba ay mayroong mga patakaran,” said Sariego.
She also said that joining a cooperative would solve the transport woes of van owners and operators, such as getting franchises.
“Kung sila ay miyembro ng kooperatiba at ang bibigyan lamang ng franchise ng Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board ay kooperatiba, ang bawat miyembro ay makikinabang dahil free silang mamasada, walang magiging takot na mahuli and at the same time ay may kikitain din sila sa pagiging kasapi ng kooperatiba,” Sariego said.
Meanwhile, a Pre-Membership Education Seminar was held last June 7, and was initiated by the Palawan Operators Tourist Transport Multi-Purpose Cooperative.
“Ang pagdalo sa naturang seminar ay isang hakbang bago tuluyang maging kasapi ng kooperatiba ang isang nais maging miyembro,” said the province.
