Make a difference, leave a legacy.

So said Oriental Mindoro Rep. Reynaldo V. Umali as he addressed the employees of the House of Representatives during their flag-raising ceremony yesterday.

Umali led the flag-raising ceremony yesterday as one of the leaders of the lower House being the chairman of the powerful justice committee.

“Ako po, bilang chairman ng House Committee on Justice, ay nagbigay ng payo sa mga opisyal at kawani ng House of Representatives tungkol sa kalagahan ng pagtulong sa kapwa at makapagdulot ng positibong pagbabago sa bayan,” he said.

Umali told the employees about the challenges being faced by the 17th Congress such as the approval of controversial measures in the pipeline.

Umali hopes that the leaders of the House serve as their inspiration in making a difference in the country.

“Hayaan niyo po ako magiwan ng isang linya: ‘Make a difference, leave a legacy and make people proud of our service to our constituents’.
