Oriental Mindoro Comelec, PNP, army join forces for peaceful barangay, SK polls

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Oriental Mindoro province has started its preparations to achieve a peaceful 2018 Syncronized Barangay Election and SK polls.

Oriental Mindoro Provincial COMELEC Officer Atty. John Mark Tambasacan spoke before the officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Army yesterday for a joint security meeting held at the Provincial Capitol.

“Ruling ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC) hinggil sa pagsasagawa ng checkpoints kaugnay ng nalalapit na 2018 Syncronized Barangay Election and SK Poll isa lamang sa binigyang diin ni Oriental Mindoro Provincial COMELEC Officer Atty. John Mark Tambasacan sa harap ng mga opisyal ng Philippine National Police(PNP) at Philippine Army (PA) sa lalawigan kasabay ng isinagawang Joint Security Meeting sa Kapitolyo…,” said the province.

Atty. Tambasacan assured everyone that the Comelec well prepared for the elections.

“Kaugnay nito, ayon pa kay Atty. Tambasacan, maliban sa pagsasagawa ng checkpoints kung saan magkasanib pwersa ang PNP at AFP, mahigpit na ipapatupad ang liquor ban na magsisimula sa Mayo 13-14,” said the province.

Comelec gun ban starts tomorrow, April 14 until May 21.

“Sa mga magpa-file ng certificate of candidacy na magsisimula ngayong Abril 14 hanggang 20 nanawagan si Atty. Tambasacan na agahan aniya upang mas maging komportable para sa mga kakandidato ngayong halalan,” said the province.

Meanwhile, PNP Provincial Director Police Senior Superintendent Christopher Birung said that the police are also prepared for the elections.

Birung said that they will deploy around 900 policemen in all the barangays in the province.
